Why is Bandimere Speedway closing? This will be the final season at the Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, which has been open for 65 years. The Bandimere family announced their plans to retire from the drag racing industry in a film that was uploaded to YouTube on Friday. The video was titled "Closing Shop at the End of the 2023 Drag Racing Season." Since the year it first opened, in 1958, the Bandimere family has controlled the whole racing track that is located at the base of Hogback Mountain.

John Bandimere Jr. has published a film in which he discusses the origins of the racetrack as well as the role that his parents had in its construction so that others may take pleasure in and gain an appreciation for the capabilities and speeds of vehicles.

After the conclusion of the drag racing season in October, Bandimere has said that the track would not be utilized again in any capacity moving forward. One of the reasons he offered for selling the site was that throughout the years, the surrounding area had experienced slow but steady expansion.

According to what Bandimere had to say, "Knowing that continued growth in the Rooney Valley would likely impact the future of our present location, our family has been proactive over the past several years in an effort to locate another possible location where a new facility can be established." In the same vein as in 1956, "the opportunity to develop and operate a multi-use facility with drag racing as its primary focus provides an exciting possibility for our family," with the additional benefit of "the potential to make a meaningful contribution to the community, wherever we may be."

The speedway had a makeover in 1988 that cost $4.2 million and enhanced the seating, pit facilities, and parking areas. During the time that the renovations were taking place, Bandimere reportedly made the following statement on the Meme Funny: "This speedway was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream of dad and mom." I found this quote to be quite motivational: "It gives me great joy to know that through the efforts and support of many dedicated people over the years, we are enjoying over 45 years as a successful full-time racing facility and look forward to many more years in the business."
